“Dr. Chew Kuew Wai Wins Two International Awards at ACFPE 2025 for Power and Energy Innovation”

Assoc Prof Ts Dr. Chew Kuew Wai from the Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) has received two awards at the 4th Asian Conference on Frontiers of Power and Energy (ACFPE 2025), which took place in Chengdu, China, from October 24 to 26, 2025. He was presented with the Best Presenter Award and the Excellent Reviewer Award, the latter of which included a cash prize, recognizing his contributions to the conference.
Award-Winning Presentation
Dr. Chew’s award-winning presentation, titled *Evaluation of Coupling Coils Parameters on Electric Vehicle (EV) Wireless Charging System,* focuses on the challenges related to efficiency and design in wireless power transfer systems for electric vehicles. The research was co-authored by PhD student Kenny Chu Sau Kang and several colleagues from LKC FES, including Assoc Prof Dr. Stella Morris, Assoc Prof Ir Dr. Chua Kein Huat, Ts Dr. Hoon Yap, and Assoc Prof Ir Dr. Lim Boon Han. This work aims to advance sustainable transportation technology.
