HUSS Initiative for Inclusive Society Signs MOU with UNESCO-Associated Documentary Heritage Centre
The HUSS Initiative for Inclusive Society has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Centre for Documentary Heritage under the auspices of UNESCO (ICDH) to strengthen international cooperation and youth engagement in documentary heritage.
The partnership will provide students with opportunities to gain practical experience through international events, educational activities, research collaboration and field-based career exploration. It aims to help young people better understand the importance of documentary heritage while developing skills related to international cooperation.
As part of the collaboration, the two institutions will launch a youth participation programme linked to the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee session, scheduled to take place in Busan from 19 to 29 July. Students from the HUSS Initiative for Inclusive Society will participate in an international academic conference and support documentary heritage exhibition activities jointly organised by ICDH, the National Archives of Korea and UNESCO Category 2 Centres.
Director Jeon In-gap said the initiative would enable young people to experience the value of documentary heritage and international cooperation firsthand. ICDH Secretary-General Cho Yoon-myung also highlighted the importance of expanding opportunities for youth to engage with documentary heritage on the global stage.
Through the MOU, the HUSS Initiative plans to expand educational and extracurricular programmes promoting documentary heritage, global citizenship, cultural diversity and inclusion.
