CUHK Unveils 2026–2030 Strategic Plan to Strengthen Academic Excellence and Global Impact
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has unveiled its five-year strategic plan, “CUHK 2026–2030: Leaping to Greatness,” outlining its priorities for academic excellence, global engagement, talent development, education, and research innovation.
The strategy is guided by the TIGER framework, comprising Talent Attraction and Development, Institutional Development, Global and Alumni Engagement, Education and Student Experience, and Research and Innovation. The framework aims to strengthen CUHK’s global standing while generating greater contributions to Hong Kong, China and the wider international community.
Under the plan, CUHK will establish its 10th college for postgraduate students, expand international undergraduate programmes, and integrate innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability into education. The University will also enhance industry-academia collaboration, knowledge transfer, international exchanges and partnerships across the Greater Bay Area.
CUHK plans to attract more international students and researchers while strengthening its diverse academic community. Its research priorities include life and health sciences, artificial intelligence, quantum science and green technology.
The University will also deepen participation in national research initiatives and leverage opportunities arising from the Northern Metropolis, Hetao Cooperation Zone and Greater Bay Area. Recent achievements, including CUHK Sat-1 and contributions to China’s Tianwen-3 Mars mission, highlight CUHK’s growing role in global and national research innovation.
