IIT Madras and CAMS Expand FinTech Collaboration to Drive Innovation

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and Computer Age Management Services (CAMS) have renewed and expanded their collaboration through the CAMS IIT Madras FinTech Innovation Lab (CIFIL), aiming to accelerate innovation in financial technology, startup development, industry-led research and professional education.

Established in 2022, CIFIL combines CAMS’ expertise in financial services with IIT Madras’ academic and research capabilities. Under the renewed partnership, the Lab will focus on emerging areas including artificial intelligence in financial services, digital payments, blockchain and tokenisation, cybersecurity, RegTech, WealthTech, InsurTech, digital lending, data analytics and financial inclusion.

A new Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 12 August 2026 at the IIT Madras campus. The partnership will expand research activities, intellectual property development, technology transfer and commercialisation of research-driven solutions.

CIFIL will also strengthen support for fintech startups through mentoring, technical expertise, industry networks, innovation challenges and research collaborations. Students will gain practical exposure through internships, research projects, hackathons and industry interactions.

The collaboration will further offer professional certificate programmes in FinTech and Personal Financial Planning, supporting students, entrepreneurs, researchers and working professionals seeking expertise in the evolving financial technology sector.
