Qatar University Graduates 26 Students from Digital Media and Live Broadcasting Diplomas

Qatar University’s Department of Mass Communication, in partnership with the Al Jazeera Media Institute, has concluded two professional diploma programmes designed to strengthen students’ practical media skills and prepare them for the evolving industry.
The four-week programmes, which began on 28 June at the Institute’s headquarters in Doha, focused on Digital Media and AI-Supported Content Creation and Live Television Broadcasting. A total of 26 Qatar University students participated, with 12 enrolled in the digital media track and 14 in live television broadcasting.
Each programme combined specialised training with hands-on learning designed to simulate professional newsroom and media environments. Students completed four training courses before undertaking applied graduation projects under the guidance of media experts and trainers from the Al Jazeera Media Institute.
The initiative reflects Qatar University’s commitment to strengthening practice-based and clinical education by connecting academic knowledge with professional experience. It also supports the university’s updated Mass Communication programmes in journalism, digital media and strategic communication, scheduled to begin in Fall 2026.
Both institutions highlighted the partnership’s role in developing graduates with industry-relevant skills in digital media, television production and artificial intelligence. They also expressed plans to expand training opportunities and explore future cooperation in applied research and joint media projects.
