Chulalongkorn University reinforced its role as a global platform for academic collaboration and international dialogue by hosting the international conference “Thailand and Central Asia: Forging Sustainable Connectivity and New Partnerships in a Dynamic Eurasia” while officially launching the Center for Central Asia Studies (CASC). Organized by the Institute of Asian Studies, the conference brought together diplomats, scholars, policymakers, and international representatives to explore emerging opportunities for cooperation between Thailand and Central Asian countries in areas including trade, energy, geopolitics, education, and regional connectivity. The event highlighted the growing strategic importance of Central Asia as a key “Middle Corridor” linking Asia, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Discussions focused on strengthening sustainable partnerships, advancing policy collaboration, and promoting cross-regional academic exchange. A major highlight included diplomatic panel discussions featuring ambassadors and representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The newly launched CASC will serve as a long-term mechanism for research, international networking, and policy engagement, reinforcing Thailand’s ambition to become a regional hub for cooperation with Central Asia.
