South Korean Embassy Economic Minister Kim Jin-dong Visits Peking University

Kim Jin-dong, Economic Minister at the South Korean Embassy in China, recently visited Peking University (PKU) to strengthen academic and cultural exchanges between China and South Korea. During the visit, he met with Dong Zhiyong, Vice President of Peking University, at the Yingjie Overseas Exchange Center.
In the meeting, Dong highlighted PKU’s longstanding partnerships with South Korean institutions and organizations. He noted that initiatives such as the Beijing Forum and the Korea-China Economic Development Forum have served as valuable platforms for fostering high-level academic dialogue and cooperation. Looking ahead, he encouraged scholars and students from both countries to deepen collaboration in emerging fields, including artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and economic development.
Kim Jin-dong emphasized the strong foundation of Korea-China economic and trade relations and pointed to the significant opportunities for expanding youth and academic exchanges. He commended Peking University for its contributions to international scholarly engagement and expressed hope for continued collaboration that promotes mutual understanding and people-to-people connections.
As part of his visit, Kim also delivered a lecture titled “The Current Status and Future of the Korean Economy and Korea-China Economic Cooperation” to students enrolled in the Korean Economy course, providing valuable insights into regional economic trends and bilateral cooperation.
