South Asian University and National University Sign MoU to Strengthen Academic and Research Cooperation

Nalanda University (NU), Rajgir, and South Asian University (SAU), New Delhi, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic and research cooperation between the two institutions. The agreement was formally signed at the Nalanda University campus in Rajgir in the presence of academics, dignitaries, government officials, and students.
The MoU was signed by Prof. K.K. Aggarwal, President of SAU—an international university established by the eight SAARC member states—and Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, Vice-Chancellor of Nalanda University.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Aggarwal highlighted that the partnership aims to expand academic and research collaboration while creating meaningful learning opportunities for students from both universities. Prof. Chaturvedi described the agreement as a new beginning in collaborative academic engagement, noting that it will provide greater exposure to global academic practices and shared intellectual resources.
The MoU framework includes joint research supervision, academic teaching programmes, post-doctoral opportunities, conferences, symposiums, and scholarly publications. It also promotes faculty, researcher, and student exchange programmes, along with sharing of academic resources and research materials to support long-term institutional cooperation.
Both NU and SAU, functioning under India’s Ministry of External Affairs, are internationally recognized institutions with strong global orientations and distinct academic mandates aimed at promoting regional and international knowledge exchange.
