UCSI University Hosts Regional Launch of ASEAN Youth ESG Initiative ‘Weave the Future’

UCSI University hosted the regional launch of the ASEAN youth Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiative under Shanghai Climate Week, titled Weave the Future, bringing together students, academics, and policymakers to promote sustainable action across the region.

The event featured creative art installations and exhibition booths presented by students from Universiti Malaya, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TARUMT), and Fudan University. These showcases highlighted youth-driven ideas on sustainability, innovation, and environmental responsibility.

A series of forums were also held, featuring thought-provoking discussions led by participating universities. The sessions encouraged dialogue on ESG practices and emphasized the role of young people in driving meaningful and lasting change within their communities and beyond.

The event was further distinguished by the presence of Malaysia’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Arthur Joseph Kurup, and MCA President Wee Ka Siong, underscoring strong national support for youth engagement in sustainability initiatives.

Through this launch, UCSI University reaffirmed its commitment to fostering regional collaboration and empowering the next generation of changemakers to advance ESG principles across ASEAN.
