Tra Vinh University Hosts Scientific Seminar on Digital Transformation in Agriculture

Tra Vinh University recently organized a scientific seminar focused on the impact of digital transformation on the agricultural economy. The event, held on June 28, 2025, attracted a diverse group of participants, including scientists, researchers, and students from across the nation. It featured five key presentations centered on the development and sustainability of digital agriculture.
Seminar Theme and Audience
The seminar’s theme, “Impact of Digital Transformation on Agricultural Economy,” appealed to a wide audience, including scientists, educators, doctoral candidates, and undergraduate students.
Notable Attendees
Notable attendees included members of the College of Economics and Law’s Board of Management, such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, the Dean, and Dr. Nguyen Tan Dat, the Vice Dean. Additionally, prominent scientists and lecturers participated in the discussions, including Prof. Doan Xuan Tien, a former Deputy State Auditor General and Chair of the Vietnam Association of Auditors and Accountants; Dr. Doan Ngoc Pha, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Science and Technology Associations; and Dr. Tran Thanh Cao, Deputy Director of the Southern Forest Science Institute.
Focus of Presentations
The seminar encompassed various presentations that addressed significant topics related to digital transformation and its effects on the agricultural sector in Vietnam, with a particular emphasis on the Tra Vinh region.
Research Submissions
The organizing committee received 30 research papers from academics and educators nationwide. From these submissions, five exemplary papers were chosen for presentation. The selected topics included prospects for sustainable development in Vietnamese agriculture, methods to enhance agricultural production efficiency, and the analysis of factors influencing farmers’ acceptance of digital transformation.
Importance of Digital Transformation
Dr. Nguyen Tan Dat pointed out the necessity of digital transformation in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and globalization, emphasizing its importance for increasing productivity, quality, and sustainable development in agriculture.
Collaboration for Future Development
Furthermore, the seminar facilitated collaboration among universities, research institutions, governmental bodies, and businesses, aiming to promote smart, modern, and sustainable agricultural practices in Vietnam.
