Academic Council of the National University of Medical Sciences Reviews and Concludes Research Projects

The Academic Council of the National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS) held its meeting on June 18, 2026, to review the outcomes of key scientific and research projects funded under national science and technology programmes.
During the session, the Council evaluated a project led by Associate Professor Dr. T. Bayasgalan, implemented under the University’s Science and Technology Support Fund. The study, titled “Identification of Insulin Resistance Markers in Mongolian Population Using Simplified Clinical Methods,” focused on developing accessible clinical approaches for early detection of insulin resistance.
The Council also reviewed a second project led by Professor Dr. Ya. Enkhtur, funded by the National Science and Technology Foundation under the Ministry of Economy and Development. The research, “Characterization of Fungal Pathogen Composition and Development of Advanced Diagnostic Methods,” aimed to improve identification and diagnostic techniques for fungal infections.
Following detailed discussions, the Academic Council approved the successful presentation of both final reports and instructed the respective project leaders to submit their completed final documentation in accordance with institutional requirements.
The meeting reaffirmed the university’s commitment to advancing scientific research, improving healthcare diagnostics, and strengthening evidence-based medical innovation in Mongolia.
