Thammasat University Strengthens Teaching Excellence Through TH-PSF and UK-PSF Standards

Thammasat University is advancing teaching quality and faculty development by encouraging academic staff to pursue professional teaching certifications under the Thailand Professional Standards Framework (TH–PSF) and the international UK Professional Standards Framework (UK–PSF). The initiative supports the university’s commitment to outcome-based education and the continuous improvement of learning experiences.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dumrong Adulyaritkul, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at Thammasat University, highlighted that professional certification helps educators systematically enhance their teaching capabilities. While faculty members have strong research expertise, modern education requires additional skills in learning design, instructional planning, educational psychology, Active Learning approaches, and effective assessment methods.
The university provides support through application fee assistance and incentives for certified faculty members. New academic staff appointed from September 2025 are required to achieve TH–PSF Level 2 certification for contract renewal, while existing faculty members are encouraged to participate in regular teaching development activities.
Several Thammasat academics have achieved international recognition, including Asst. Prof. Supawadee Tubklum from the Faculty of Nursing, who earned UK–PSF Senior Fellow and TH–PSF Level 3 certifications, and Dr. Yiarayong Klangboonkrong from the School of Global Studies, who received UK–PSF Fellow accreditation.
Through these initiatives, Thammasat University aims to build a strong teaching ecosystem, strengthen quality assurance, and prepare graduates with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing global environment.
