Legislative Council Members Conduct Dialogue Session and Working Visit to UNISSA Sinaut Campus

Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Sinaut Campus, welcomed members of the Legislative Council for a dialogue session and working visit aimed at reviewing the university’s academic development, research initiatives, and ongoing projects.
The delegation was introduced to exhibitions showcasing key initiatives from the Faculty of Halal Science and Sustainable Tourism, the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre, the Faculty of Agriculture, the Ibn Sina Scientific Laboratory Centre, and the E-Hub. These displays highlighted UNISSA’s contributions to strengthening Islamic higher education, halal research, sustainable tourism, agriculture, and innovation-driven knowledge development.
The visit served as a platform for constructive dialogue and exchange of views between the Legislative Council members and UNISSA leadership, focusing on the university’s achievements, strategic direction, and future development plans. Discussions also covered graduate employability, industry exposure, and expanded career pathways in both public and private sectors, particularly in halal industries, agriculture, fisheries, and sustainable tourism.
UNISSA emphasized its commitment to aligning its initiatives with Brunei Vision 2035 and its mission of producing Khayra Ummah graduates. The Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre also highlighted efforts to strengthen Brunei’s halal ecosystem through product development and the promotion of the Brunei Halal Label as a symbol of quality and Shariah compliance.
The visit concluded with both parties expressing commitment to enhancing collaboration in advancing Islamic higher education and national development.
