INVENTX 2026 Records Highest Number of Entries, Showcasing Global Innovation and Creative Excellence
Multimedia University (MMU) reached a major milestone with the successful organisation of iNVENTX 2026, its flagship international innovation and invention showcase, which attracted a record 705 entries across three competition platforms. Held on 2 July 2026 at Dewan Tun Canselor, the event brought together students, researchers, schools, industry partners and educators to present innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges. The event was officiated by MMU President, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud.
The competition featured 493 entries in iNVENTX 2026, 60 teams in iNVENTX Junior and 152 entries in iNVENTX Creative, reflecting MMU’s expanding innovation ecosystem. In his address, Prof. Mazliham highlighted the university’s commitment to nurturing future-ready talent through innovation, creativity and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence. He also showcased MMU’s AI Transformation Centre (AIX), which strengthens education, research and industry collaboration.
A key highlight was the 4th International iNVENTX Creative Exhibition 2026, organised by the Faculty of Creative Multimedia. Under the theme “TAP-AI: Extension or Extinction? Crossing Boundaries, Opening Up Possibilities,” the exhibition received 153 submissions, with 114 works selected from 24 countries and territories across five continents. The event reinforced MMU’s position as a leading hub for innovation, creative research and interdisciplinary collaboration while inspiring the next generation of innovators.
