The Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at Thammasat University has received the “Model Organization Award for Promoting Universal Design for All” for its efforts to advance inclusive design and create environments accessible to everyone.
The award was presented on July 24, 2026, at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Center in Muang Thong Thani during the UD Expo for Persons with Disabilities and Everyone’s Well-Being. The recognition highlights the faculty’s Universal Design Research and Design Unit and its contributions to research, knowledge development and the practical application of inclusive design principles.
Thammasat students also achieved notable results in the Young UD Hackathon 2026, a public-space design competition organized by Thailand’s Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with partner organizations.
A team of Landscape Architecture students—Arisara Chaisaensuk, Suphanat Aekakharungroj and Ekakrit Khaimusik—won first prize for their innovative universal design concept. Meanwhile, Real Estate Development Innovation students Wuttichat Jaboon, Nasa Punyatharavoranach and Prissara Sathiwong received an honorable mention.
In addition, Asst. Prof. Dr. Arunee Limmanee of Thammasat’s Faculty of Social Administration received the Role Model Award for Promoting Universal Design.
The achievements demonstrate Thammasat University’s continued commitment to inclusive education, accessible environments and universal well-being.
