DSWD Honors Saint Mary’s University for Outstanding Service to 4Ps Beneficiaries

Saint Mary’s University (SMU) has been recognized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for its outstanding partnership and dedicated support in implementing the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). The recognition was presented on June 19, 2026, during the “Pammadayaw na Paggraduar na Pantawid Pamilya” ceremony held at the Kiko Pimentel Building in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
The event celebrated 20 households that successfully graduated from the 4Ps program after achieving the Self-Sufficient level under DSWD’s Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWDI), signifying their ability to sustain their families independently without government cash assistance.
Representing SMU, Dr. Christopher Allen S. Marquez, Director of the Community Engagement and Indigenous Peoples Studies Center, accepted the recognition and encouraged graduates to inspire other families through their achievements. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift disadvantaged communities through education and community engagement.
Following the ceremony, the Local Advisory Council Committee convened to discuss the local transition plan for former beneficiaries. As a long-standing development partner, SMU pledged to continue contributing its expertise and resources to initiatives that promote economic self-sufficiency, social development, and sustainable community empowerment across Nueva Vizcaya.
