FKH USK Celebrates Graduation of 105 New Veterinarians with 53 Graduating with Honors
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKH USK) conducted its veterinarian inauguration and oath-taking ceremony on June 25, 2025, at the Dayan Dawood Academic Activity Center. A total of 105 new veterinarians were inaugurated after successfully passing the national competency examination, with 53 graduates achieving cum laude honors.
Significance of Veterinary Ethics
During the ceremony, Drh. Andi Wijanarko, M.M., Secretary General of the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (PB PDHI), highlighted the significance of adhering to the veterinary code of ethics in professional practice. He emphasized that it is essential for all veterinarians in Indonesia to comprehensively understand and comply with these ethical standards.
Encouragement for New Graduates
Prof. Dr. Ir. Agussabti, M.Si., IPU, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at the university, extended congratulations to the new veterinarians and encouraged them to utilize their skills in the workforce while upholding the reputation of their institution.
Job Opportunities and Academic Excellence
Drh. Teuku Reza, Dean of FKH USK, noted that many graduates had received job offers or were applying for scholarships for master’s programs. He mentioned that Ikhsan Arya Pranata, one of the graduates, achieved the highest score in the national Computer-Based Test (CBT) exam, scoring 93 points, which reflects the quality of education provided at FKH USK.
Certificates of Appreciation
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to partner institutions involved in the veterinary program, along with recognition for graduates demonstrating exemplary performance, including those with the highest national CBT scores and GPA.
Notable Attendance at the Ceremony
The event was attended by representatives from various organizations, including the Aceh Livestock Service, the Medan Veterinary Center, and other significant partners in the field of veterinary education. The ceremony also recognized the achievements of FKH USK’s faculty and students, who secured a gold medal at the 8th China (Shanghai) International Invention and Innovation Exhibition 2025.
