Ateneo Builds International Ties Through Ukrainian Studies Partnership and Delegation Visit

Ateneo de Manila University Joins Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, Strengthening International Academic Collaboration and Expanding Engagement with Eastern Europe
Ateneo de Manila University has formally joined the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies (GCUS), marking a significant milestone in the university’s expanding global engagement and commitment to international academic collaboration. The development was highlighted during the official visit of a Ukrainian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Olexandr Mischenko, alongside Her Excellency Yuliia Fediv, to Ateneo’s Loyola Campus. Through its participation in the coalition, Ateneo aims to deepen its engagement with Eastern European studies, broaden research and teaching opportunities, and strengthen academic partnerships with Ukrainian universities and institutions. The initiative also creates new avenues for faculty and students to explore issues related to history, culture, conflict, resilience, identity, and international relations from both Ukrainian and Philippine perspectives. As one of the first institutions in Southeast Asia to join GCUS, Ateneo reinforces its role as a globally connected university dedicated to intercultural dialogue, collaborative scholarship, and education that responds to contemporary global realities.
