Kyoto University Welcomes KAIST Delegation to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration

A delegation led by Prof. Park Jin, Distinguished Invited Professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, visited Kyoto University on 2 July 2026 to discuss opportunities for strengthening academic and research cooperation.
During the visit, the delegation held discussions with Kyoto University President Nagahiro Minato and Prof. Yasuyuki Kono, Vice-President for International Strategy. The meeting focused on expanding collaboration between Kyoto University, KAIST, and research institutions in the Republic of Korea, with an emphasis on advancing international partnerships in education and innovation.
The exchange highlighted the importance of global academic networks in addressing shared challenges through research collaboration, knowledge exchange, and cross-border cooperation. Both sides explored potential opportunities to deepen partnerships, support joint research initiatives, and promote greater interaction among researchers, faculty members, and students.
The visit reflects Kyoto University’s ongoing commitment to enhancing international engagement and building strategic partnerships with leading institutions worldwide. Through collaboration with KAIST and Korean academic partners, Kyoto University aims to foster innovation, strengthen global research connections, and contribute to the development of future-oriented solutions through higher education and scientific cooperation.
