Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia Meets University of Tsukuba President NAGATA for Educational Cooperation

On March 13, 2026, Mr. SHIKATA Noriyuki, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Malaysia, conducted a visit to the University of Tsukuba. He was accompanied by Mr. HIRASHIMA Shusaku, Senior Deputy Director of the Second Southeast Asia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation engaged in discussions with President NAGATA Kyosuke and Vice President for Global Affairs OHNEDA Osamu regarding potential educational cooperation.

During the meeting, university officials presented an overview of the current status and future developments of the University of Tsukuba, Malaysia (UTMy). The discussions also encompassed various topics related to collaboration in higher education in Malaysia, as well as opportunities for partnerships between academia and industry.
