2025 HUST Graduation Concert at Zuiwan Pavilion: A Celebration of Achievement
20On June 7, 2025, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) held its 25th annual “Zuiwan Pavilion” Instrumental Concert as part of the graduation season. This long-standing tradition, which has been observed for over 30 years, was staged in the Celebrity Garden, adorned with numerous lanterns.
Traditional Art Activities
Despite challenging weather conditions, a range of traditional art activities, including sachet-making and lacquer fan painting, were available to attendees, which included both students and faculty. These activities contributed to the cultural ambiance of the evening.
Musical Performances
The concert began at 8 PM and featured a variety of musical performances. Traditional instruments such as the guzheng, a Chinese zither, and yangqin, a hammered dulcimer, showcased their sounds alongside the brass section and flute, creating a harmonious atmosphere. The rainfall, while providing a natural backdrop, added to the evening’s charm, resulting in an engaging musical experience that received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Cultural Significance
The event not only showcased the musical abilities of the students but also emphasized the importance of traditional Chinese culture, reflecting HUST’s dedication to integrating education with the arts.
