AUN ED-YSC 2024: Celebrating Collaborative Achievements of International Students at UNAIR
Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) recently concluded the 20th AUN and 9th ASEAN+3 Educational Forum and Young Speakers’ Contest (AUN ED-YSC), which took place on October 26, 2024, at Mataram Hall in the ASEEC Tower, located on UNAIR’s Dharmawangsa-B Campus. This annual event attracted participants from Southeast and East Asia and emphasized the importance of cross-national collaboration to address global educational, social, and environmental challenges.
Significance of Collaboration
During the closing ceremony, Marco Eraño A. Dumale, a delegate from the University of the Philippines, underscored the significance of collaboration in achieving meaningful results. He highlighted that the most effective outcomes were realized when all participants engaged equally, without hierarchical constraints. Dumale reflected on how the forum provided opportunities to enhance teamwork and international communication skills, asserting that substantial achievements depend on broader cooperation among delegates.
Acknowledgement of Excellence
Dumale received recognition as the Most Outstanding Delegate of the event, attributing his achievement to an open and consultative approach throughout the forum. He emphasized the necessity for every participant’s perspective to be included in discussions and decision-making processes, stating, “True success comes from working together to ensure every perspective is represented.”
Promoting Future Engagements
Overall, the AUN ED-YSC not only facilitated dialogue and collaboration but also offered valuable experiences for participants, promoting the development of essential skills for future global engagements.
