ULIS CONNECT Unveils “American English Viewing Marathon 2026” Program

The University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in collaboration with the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, officially launched the “American English Viewing Marathon 2026” under the ULIS CONNECT initiative.
The launch ceremony brought together senior leadership from ULIS VNU, representatives of partner institutions, and officials including Mr. Sean Boda from the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section. From the Ministry of Education and Training, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Mai Hữu, Head of the National Foreign Languages Project Management Board, also attended. The event was further joined by representatives from education departments, universities, colleges, schools, language centers, teachers, and students nationwide.
Scheduled from 15 May to 15 August 2026, the program is designed as a large-scale professional development initiative for English language teachers, pre-service teachers, university lecturers, and education managers across Vietnam. Delivered through the RELOLearn platform, the initiative promotes self-paced online learning using high-quality American English open educational resources (OER).
Participants will engage in interactive learning modules, assessments, and continuous academic support while building a nationwide Community of Practice for English language education. The program also offers completion certificates, 100 professional development scholarships for outstanding participants, and recognition awards for the top 10 performers.
The initiative aims to strengthen teacher capacity, expand access to quality training, and encourage sustainable professional collaboration in English language education.
