ICATAM 2024 Conference: Insights from Global Experts at Universitas Airlangga
The Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline (FTMM) at Universitas Airlangga hosted the International Conference of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline (ICATAM) from October 17 to 18, 2024. The conference utilized a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and virtual participation through Zoom.
Keynote Speakers
The event featured six keynote speakers, including Prof. Norhana Arsad from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Assoc. Prof. Hao Wang from Monash University, Prof. Yasuaki Einaga from Keio University, Dr. Lilik Jamilatul Awalin from UNAIR, Assoc. Prof. Aini Zuhra Abdul Kadir from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and Prof. Tian-Hua Liu from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
Opening Address
During the opening address, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih highlighted the importance of technology in promoting sustainability and encouraging responsible progress. He noted that ICATAM serves as a collaborative platform that brings together researchers, academics, and professionals to address significant global challenges.
Conference Theme
The theme for the 2024 conference was “Harnessing the Innovation of Computational and Applied Engineering for Sustainable Development,” emphasizing technological innovations that support sustainable growth.
Commitment to Collaboration
FTMM Dean Prof. Dr. Dwi Setyawan reaffirmed the commitment to fostering collaboration between academia and industry, with the goal of generating new ideas to tackle global issues. The conference attracted approximately 100 participants from various countries, including presenters from Thailand, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
ICATAM’s Legacy
This conference represented the fourth year of ICATAM, underscoring its role as a forum for discussions and innovative ideas that may benefit society and the environment.
