UNIKAL Strengthens Construction Law Expertise Through FIDIC Workshop

The Master’s Programme in Construction Law, Faculty of Law, Universitas Pekalongan (UNIKAL), strengthened its engagement with the construction industry through a Community Service Workshop held in collaboration with PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) at Menara Danareksa, Jakarta.

Dr. Sami’an, S.H., M.H., a lecturer from the programme, contributed as a facilitator in the workshop themed “FIDIC in the Modern Construction Industry: Risk Mitigation, Claims, Dispute Resolution and Legal Certainty.” The event brought together academic perspectives and industry experience, focusing on the application of international FIDIC contract standards in Indonesian infrastructure projects.

Dr. Sami’an opened the academic session and highlighted the importance of strong construction law expertise as infrastructure projects become increasingly complex. He also accompanied participants throughout the workshop to help connect the discussions with practical challenges in the field.

Topics included FIDIC contract implementation, project risk identification and mitigation, construction claims management, and effective dispute resolution strategies.

The programme also strengthened institutional cooperation between UNIKAL and PT MRT Jakarta through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Faculty of Law UNIKAL and PT MRT Jakarta.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing education, research, community engagement and professional development in construction law.
