UNIKOM Badminton Club Wins Overall Championship at 2026 Bumi Siliwangi Open
Students from Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM) delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Bumi Siliwangi Open, securing the Overall Championship and four podium finishes at the national-level badminton tournament held at UPI Bandung Sport Hall from July 26–31, 2026.
Competing in mixed doubles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles, the UNIKOM Badminton Student Club earned one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Fajar Putra Setiawan and Khashia Aqila Sasmita claimed first place in mixed doubles, while Ridho Ma’sum Firdaus and Divya Clarisa Ayuni finished second. Fajar and Ridho also secured third place in men’s doubles, while Khashia and Divya earned third place in women’s doubles.
The athletes represent UNIKOM’s Accounting and Management programmes, demonstrating how students can combine academic development with excellence in extracurricular activities.
UNIKOM Director of Student Affairs and Badminton Club Advisor Andrias Darmayadi congratulated the athletes, highlighting their commitment, discipline, consistency, and dedication to representing the university.
He also noted that the achievement reflects UNIKOM’s broader commitment to developing students beyond the classroom by nurturing talent, character, sportsmanship, and competitive skills.
The Overall Championship is expected to inspire UNIKOM’s student athletes to continue improving their performance and pursuing achievements at national and international competitions.
