UET Lahore Alumnus Visits Civil Engineering Department to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration

Prof. Dr. Salman Azhar, an alumnus of the Civil Engineering Department (CED) at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, visited the department on August 11, 2026, to engage with faculty members and students and explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration.
Dr. Azhar currently serves as William A. Hunt Endowed Professor and Graduate Programs Chair in the McWhorter School of Building Science at Auburn University, Alabama, USA. He was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan, Chairman of CED, who hosted an academic interaction with faculty and students.
The session began with an overview of CED, including its academic programmes, research activities and ongoing initiatives. Dr. Azhar subsequently presented information about Auburn University’s master’s and PhD programmes, highlighting research opportunities and current projects in the field of civil engineering.
The discussion provided students and faculty with valuable insights into postgraduate education, international research opportunities and developments in civil engineering. It also opened avenues for strengthening academic connections between UET Lahore and Auburn University through future research and educational initiatives.
The visit highlighted the importance of alumni engagement in expanding international academic networks and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange. The event concluded with refreshments and informal discussions among the participants.
