King Abdulaziz University Finalizes Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program for Female Students
King Abdulaziz University has successfully completed the 2026 Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program for female students, held in partnership with the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba). The four-week initiative concluded with a closing ceremony at the King Fahd Medical Research Center, where university leaders, partners, and participants celebrated the achievements of the program.
The enrichment program brought together 25 gifted female students, each presenting an original research project focused on advancing human health. Research topics covered seven priority areas, including drug discovery, molecular diagnostics, biotechnology, 3D bioprinting, nanomedicine, virology, toxicology, forensic medicine, and clinical laboratory sciences. These projects were aligned with Saudi Arabia’s national research, development, and innovation priorities.
Outstanding participants were recognized during the ceremony. Team Al-Istiqrar received the Gold Medal, Team Al-Binaa earned the Silver Medal, and Team Al-Barakah secured the Bronze Medal. Dana Al-Harbi won the Best Scientific Poster Award, while Jana Harsani, Mayar Al-Khard, and Ghina Al-Buqami were also honored for their research presentations.
Program organizers highlighted the initiative’s role in nurturing gifted students through hands-on scientific research, academic mentorship, and professional development. Mawhiba reaffirmed its commitment to empowering talented young researchers and supporting Saudi Vision 2030 by strengthening the Kingdom’s future scientific and innovation workforce.
