Akhmet Adil Kurmanzhanuly Marks 85th Anniversary with Congratulations from KBTU

Kazakh-British Technical University marked the 85th anniversary of Akhmet Adil Kurmanzhanuly, recognizing his outstanding contributions to diplomacy, education, science, and public service in Kazakhstan.
A respected statesman, diplomat, academician, and scholar, Akhmet Adil Kurmanzhanuly played a significant role in strengthening Kazakhstan’s international relations and higher education sector. Throughout his distinguished career, he served as First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the United Kingdom, representing the nation on the global stage.
His legacy is closely tied to KBTU, where he became the university’s first Rector in 2001. Under his leadership, the university established its academic foundations, expanded international partnerships, and developed strategic directions that continue to shape its growth today.
To honor his achievements, KBTU organized a roundtable discussion titled “Kieli Orda KBTU: Noble Traditions and Directions for Renewal” in April 2026. During the event, he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of KBTU.
The university also inaugurated an auditorium named in his honor, symbolizing appreciation for his lifelong dedication to education, research, diplomacy, and international cooperation. KBTU described his leadership, wisdom, and service as a lasting inspiration for future generations of students and scholars.
