Villa College Students Join the People’s Majlis Secretariat’s First Internship Cohort

Villa College has strengthened its commitment to experiential learning through the placement of five students in the inaugural internship programme of the People’s Majlis Secretariat. Established under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, the initiative provides students with valuable opportunities to connect academic knowledge with the practical workings of the Maldives’ legislative system.
During the one-month programme, interns gain first-hand exposure to the daily operations of the People’s Majlis Secretariat, observing legislative procedures, administrative processes, and the essential functions that support parliamentary work. This experience allows students, particularly those studying law, to develop a deeper understanding of governance while applying classroom concepts in a professional environment.
The internship reflects Villa College’s ongoing commitment to producing graduates who are equipped with practical skills, professional confidence, and a strong sense of civic responsibility. By collaborating with a key national institution, the College continues to create meaningful pathways that prepare students for successful careers in both the public and private sectors.
Representing Villa College in the first internship cohort are Khadheeja Shaffa Mohamed (LLB), Aminath Saha (LLB), Maryam Shifa (BSL), Aminath Firusa (BSL), and Hassan Azzam Ali (LLB). Their participation marks an important milestone in strengthening the connection between higher education and public service while inspiring future students to pursue similar opportunities.
