Acoustic Doppler Discharge Measurement Training Workshop – Successful Completion at Institute of Technology Cambodia (Jan 20–22, 2026)

The Faculty of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) recently completed the Acoustic Doppler Discharge Measurement Training Workshop, conducted from January 20 to 22, 2026, in partnership with Xylem Water Solutions & Technology.
Workshop Overview
The workshop, organized by ITC’s Coastal and Wetland Research Laboratory, consisted of both classroom sessions and practical fieldwork conducted on the Bassac River. The curriculum included discussions on the latest advancements in river discharge measurement techniques, bathymetric survey methods, and automated water quality monitoring technologies.
Participants
The training attracted 30 participants from a variety of organizations, including ITC and several key ministries, such as the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Mines and Energy. Additionally, attendees represented organizations including the Cambodia National Mekong Committee, the Tonle Sap Authority, Electricité du Cambodge, the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority, the Royal University of Phnom Penh, and various water consulting firms.
Training Content
During the workshop, participants engaged with Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs) and received training on the use of Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) and environmental monitoring systems, enhancing their technical capabilities.
