AUPP Team Excels at World Robot Olympiad 2025 Finals in Singapore

Several students from the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), competing under the name Baymax Motion, represented Cambodia at the World Robot Olympiad 2025 finals, which took place in Singapore. The team worked on a project aligned with the competition’s theme, “The Future of Robots,” and created a fully autonomous self-driving car designed to address a range of challenges, including obstacle detection and precise stopping capabilities.

Competition Success

During the event, the Baymax Motion team successfully navigated both the Open Challenge and the Obstacle Challenge. The robot efficiently maneuvered through narrow and wide sectors, detected red and green pillars, and selected the correct path to bypass each obstacle while stopping accurately at the end of the course. The team was distinguished as one of only two Cambodian participants in the Future Engineer category, representing both AUPP and Cambodia on an international platform.

Impact on Cambodian Robotics

This involvement underscores the increasing visibility of Cambodian students in global robotics competitions and highlights their skills and innovative approaches in the field of robotics.
