Xi’an Jiaotong University Postgraduate Commencement Ceremony 2025: Celebrating Academic Achievements and Future Prospects
On June 20, 2025, Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) conducted its postgraduate commencement and degree conferment ceremony at iHarbor. The event recognized the achievements of 7,374 students who successfully completed their postgraduate studies.
Ceremony Highlights
During the ceremony, Lu Jianjun, secretary of the Communist Party of China’s XJTU committee, presented titles of “outstanding graduate” to 621 students and “outstanding graduate cadre” to 316 students. Furthermore, 252 graduates pursuing careers in grassroots sectors, national defense, military-industrial units, or public service were acknowledged for their dedication.
Encouragement for Graduates
Lu encouraged the graduates to collaborate toward national development and rejuvenation. Zhang Liqun, president of XJTU, highlighted the significance of individual contributions from graduates, noting their diverse academic pursuits and applications throughout their studies.
Messages from Academic Leaders
Academic leaders, including Tao Wenquan, an academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and faculty members such as Professor Zhang Jun and Professor Yi Yuan, extended their congratulations to the graduates through video messages. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Rong Mingzhe from the School of Electrical Engineering.
Reflections from Alumni
Alumnus Hua Lin, a professor at Wuhan University of Technology, reflected on his doctoral experience at XJTU, encouraging graduates to align their personal aspirations with national progress. Another alumnus, Li Zexin, shared advice emphasizing the importance of family, school, and country.
Expressions of Gratitude
Student representatives expressed gratitude towards faculty and staff by presenting flowers, acknowledging their support in creating a nurturing academic environment. This year’s ceremony represented a significant milestone for the graduating class as they prepare to embark on new professional ventures.
