The Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) at IPB University has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Songkhla Rajabhat University (SKRU) in Thailand. The agreement is designed to enhance cooperation in three main areas: education, research, and community service.
Significance of Collaboration
Dr. Irfan Syauqi Beik, Dean of FEM IPB University, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, which includes initiatives such as student exchanges, community empowerment projects, and research partnerships, particularly in the field of management studies.
Signing Ceremony Details
During the signing ceremony held on February 5 at the FEM Meeting Room on the IPB Dramaga Campus, Dr. Irfan highlighted the commitment to identify viable programs and activities that could be pursued under this partnership. Proposed initiatives include summer courses, student mobility programs, and joint Thematic Real Work Lectures (KKN). The Department of Management at IPB University previously established connections with SKRU to conduct summer courses and joint publications, and plans to broaden these efforts as a result of this new agreement.
Community Service Programs
Dr. Irfan also mentioned that FEM IPB University has already conducted community service programs in various locations, including Thailand and Malaysia, over the past year. This opens possibilities for expanding short course offerings for SKRU students, providing them with more opportunities to study at IPB University.
SKRU Delegation
The SKRU delegation included several faculty members, such as Assist Prof. Pongsak Thongnueakhaeng, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, and Assist Prof. Walailak Kanchanasathian, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, among others.
