HKU Information Day 2025: AI for Every Mind – Explore Innovative Applications Across Disciplines
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is scheduled to hold its Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions 2025 on Saturday, October 25, 2025. This event is open to the public and aims to assist potential JUPAS and non-JUPAS applicants. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in various admissions talks, program information sessions, facility tours, and interactive experiential activities.
Event Theme: AI for Every Mind
This year’s theme, “AI for Every Mind,” focuses on the applications of artificial intelligence across a range of academic disciplines, including arts, humanities, business, medicine, law, and social sciences. Participants will gain insights into how HKU integrates AI into its educational framework, thereby preparing students for careers that utilize this technology.
HKU’s Commitment to AI Literacy
HKU emphasizes its commitment to providing students with essential AI literacy and practical skills applicable to diverse fields. The university offers several interdisciplinary programs that incorporate AI, including:
School of Computing and Data Science
The Computing and Data Science (Delta+) program equips students for careers in computing and data science. It also offers a fellowship for study at the HKU-CDS Teaching and Research Site in Shanghai.
School of Biomedical Engineering and School of Innovation
These schools offer innovative undergraduate programs such as the Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering and the Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Technology.
Faculty of Arts
New offerings include the Bachelor of Arts in Global Creative Industries and a dual degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Specialized programs with a focus on AI include the Bachelor of Engineering Elite Programme and the Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering in Artificial Intelligence.
Celebrations and Activities on Information Day
The Information Day will feature a celebration marking HKU’s 115th anniversary, alongside comprehensive admissions talks tailored for different student categories. Participants will also have access to interactive workshops and experiential demonstrations showcasing AI applications in various fields. A dedicated fair on Dual Degree Programmes will provide information on partnerships with leading universities worldwide.

Additionally, a pre-Information Day webinar titled “AI in Action: Practical Uses and Prospects Across All Fields” is scheduled for October 22, 2025. This webinar will feature discussions led by HKU professors and industry leaders regarding AI’s impact across various sectors, as well as the university’s programs designed to prepare students for careers within changing technology landscapes.
