UET Lahore and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid Establish Partnership to Advance Academic and Research Collaboration

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), Spain, to strengthen international cooperation in education, research, and innovation.
The agreement was signed by UET Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI) and Prof. F. Javier Román González, Vice-Rector for Internationalization at UAM. The partnership provides a framework for collaboration across multiple academic areas, including joint research projects, faculty and student exchange programmes, graduate research supervision, dual-degree opportunities, academic conferences, workshops, internships, and interlibrary cooperation.
Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir highlighted that the MoU represents UET Lahore’s ongoing commitment to internationalisation and academic excellence. He noted that collaboration with Universidad Autónoma de Madrid will create new opportunities for research advancement, innovation, faculty development, and global knowledge exchange.
The agreement will remain in effect for an initial four-year period, with the possibility of extension through mutual consent, providing a foundation for long-term institutional cooperation.
Dr. Komal Rizwan from UET Lahore’s Department of Chemistry played a key role in facilitating the successful partnership. Her efforts contributed to expanding opportunities for academic engagement and strengthening connections between researchers and students from both institutions.
Through this collaboration, UET Lahore and UAM aim to promote cross-border academic exchange and develop impactful research initiatives.
