Team Bangladesh Celebrates Historic Achievement at APOAI 2026 with Three Gold Medals

Team Bangladesh has achieved a remarkable milestone at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (APOAI) 2026, securing three out of ten available Gold Medals in the international competition. The outstanding accomplishment marks a significant achievement for Bangladesh in the field of artificial intelligence and highlights the country’s growing potential in AI education and innovation.

To celebrate this historic success, a special reception ceremony was organised to honour the winning team, coaches, mentors, parents, and supporters who contributed to the achievement. The event brought together representatives from academia, industry, and the technology community to recognise the dedication and hard work behind Team Bangladesh’s success.

Special recognition was given to Dr. Mohammad Azam Khan, Associate Professor from the Department of Computing and Information System (CIS), for his exceptional contribution as a coach and mentor. His guidance and commitment played an important role in preparing the team and inspiring future generations of AI talents in Bangladesh.

Organised by the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) in collaboration with Daffodil International Academy, the celebration highlighted the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, industry partners, and communities in advancing artificial intelligence development. The achievement reflects the strength of teamwork, innovation, and dedication in shaping the future of AI.
