UT5 Consortium Universities Strengthen Research Collaboration Through New Cooperation Agreements

The presidents of the five member institutions of Iran’s Industrial Universities Consortium (UT5) have signed a series of cooperation agreements aimed at strengthening scientific collaboration, enhancing research capabilities, and supporting national development priorities.
The meeting, hosted by Iran University of Science and Technology, brought together university leaders, research and technology officials, and international affairs representatives from Sharif University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology, Isfahan University of Technology, K. N. Toosi University of Technology, and Iran University of Science and Technology.
Among the key outcomes was the signing of memoranda covering shared laboratory services and library cooperation. The laboratory agreement allows researchers from member institutions to access equipment and facilities across the consortium, including discounted services for research projects and national initiatives. Meanwhile, the library agreement expands access to physical and digital academic resources, encouraging greater knowledge sharing among students and researchers.
The consortium also approved an updated charter designed to deepen scientific and technological cooperation while enhancing the universities’ contribution to addressing strategic national challenges. Discussions further focused on the role of higher education institutions in supporting the reconstruction and modernization of industries affected by recent conflicts.
University leaders emphasized that closer collaboration will improve research quality, optimize resources, reduce costs, and strengthen the global reputation of Iran’s leading technical universities.
