AppliedHE Xchange @ FCPC Bulacan 2026 Brings Together 190 Delegates from 43 Philippine Universities

The AppliedHE Xchange @ FCPC Bulacan 2026, hosted by First City Providential College (FCPC), successfully brought together 190 delegates from 43 public and private universities across the Philippines for a full day of strategic dialogue on the future of higher education.

Held at the City Convention Center, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, the Xchange focused on the theme:

“Student Diversity & Outcomes That Matter: A Strategic Approach to Internationalisation, Graduate Employability & Alumni Engagement.”

The event gathered university leaders, internationalisation practitioners, quality assurance professionals, alumni officers, and academic strategists to explore how institutions can move beyond activities and rankings towards real, measurable student outcomes.

One of the highlights of the event was the strategic workshop delivered by Associate Professor Dr Joaquim Dias Soeiro, Deputy Dean of Internationalisation, Sunway University. The workshop was opened by Professor Abhi Veerakumarasivam, Provost and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Sunway University, who joined online to set the stage for the day’s discussions on student diversity and meaningful institutional outcomes.

The Xchange also featured a keynote address by Dr Lora L. Yusi, Director IV of the Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (OIQAG), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), who delivered a strong message on the importance of soft skills in higher education through her address titled “Soft Skills Are No Longer Optional.”

AppliedHE also introduced its innovative 3M Consulting Framework — comprising the JOB-Ready Rating, ALUMNI-Ready CRM, and SOFT SKILLS-Ready Assessment — designed to support universities through a whole-of-institution strategy for employability, alumni engagement, and internationalisation.

The event further highlighted the importance of moving “from policy to practice,” bringing together perspectives from quality assurance, governance, internationalisation, and graduate outcomes into a single collaborative platform.

Building on the momentum of the FCPC Xchange, AppliedHE will continue its regional engagement through two upcoming higher education convenings: the AppliedHE Xchange: Public & Private University Rankings – ALL AFRICA, hosted by the University of Cape Town from 31 August to 1 September 2026, and the AppliedHE Xchange: Public & Private University Rankings – ASEAN, hosted by Sunway University at Sunway Square, Kuala Lumpur, from 20 to 21 October 2026.

The FCPC Xchange concluded with strong interest from institutions looking to continue the conversation through future AppliedHE initiatives and collaborations.
