University of Colombo’s Faculty of Indigenous Medicine: Welcoming 235 New Students at the 2026 Orientation Program

The Faculty of Indigenous Medicine at the University of Colombo conducted its Orientation Programme for new students on February 16, 2026. This event, held in the Faculty’s Main Auditorium, welcomed 235 new students enrolled in the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degree programs, along with their parents.

Notable attendees included Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake, Vice Chancellor of the University, and Professors Pathirage Kamal Perera and Vajira Dissanayake, deans of the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine and the Faculty of Medicine, respectively. Their presence underscored the significance of the event for the incoming students.
