Jamaican Delegation Visits Beijing Normal University for Educational Collaboration

On January 14, 2026, a delegation led by Arthur Williams, the Jamaican Ambassador to China, visited Beijing Normal University (BNU). The delegation was welcomed by Chen Xing, the Vice President of BNU.
Overview of the Visit
During the visit, Vice President Chen provided an overview of BNU’s academic development and internationalization initiatives. These efforts include strategies for international student recruitment and training. He emphasized the university’s commitment to enhancing cultural exchanges and fostering partnerships with higher education institutions in Jamaica, expressing interest in attracting Jamaican students for advanced studies at BNU.
Future Collaboration
Ambassador Williams acknowledged the warm reception and recognized the accomplishments of BNU. He articulated hopes for future collaboration in education and research, with a focus on increasing opportunities for Jamaican students to study in China.
Meeting and Tour
The meeting also included officials from BNU’s Academic Affairs Office and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation. After the discussions, Ambassador Williams and the delegation toured the BNU Historical Museum.
