Global Food Festival and Cultural Exchange at Tsinghua University’s Continental Fair

On December 27, Zhishan College, Schwarzman College, and Zijing College organized the “Continental Fair,” a Global Food Festival and International Culture Market, which attracted participation from over 200 members of the Tsinghua University community, including both faculty and students.

Event Overview

The event aimed to provide a platform for attendees to explore a variety of cultures and engage in networking opportunities. Hosted at Schwarzman College, the fair encompassed three main areas: cultural experience, food tasting, and interactive photo opportunities, all designed to promote dialogue and interpersonal exchange among participants.

Cultural Experience Zone

In the cultural experience zone, seven interactive stations were set up, allowing participants to engage in activities such as Chinese calligraphy, crafting Malaysian handmade kites, and playing African drums. Students showcased numerous cultural practices, including wrapping rice dumplings and performing traditional drumming, which enabled attendees to interact with global traditions firsthand.

Food Zone

The food zone featured a selection of international cuisines, including dishes like spring rolls, sushi, and French pastries. Volunteers shared insights about the origins and cultural significance of each dish, fortifying connections through shared culinary experiences.

Cultural Souvenirs and Photo Opportunities

Attendees received cultural souvenirs such as tote bags, puzzles, stickers, and keychains, all reflecting international design elements. Many participants engaged in photo opportunities with Zhishan College’s mascot and various decorative displays representing different countries, further promoting cross-cultural exchange beyond the event.
