Politeknik Brunei Excellence Award Ceremony 2025: Celebrating the 11th Convocation
Politeknik Brunei hosted the Excellence Award Ceremony 2025 on October 28, 2025, at the Goldstone Ballroom, The Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong. The event honored the achievements of 28 award recipients from the Class of 2025.
Participation from Various Schools
Graduates and students from five schools participated in the ceremony, which included representatives from the School of Business, School of Information and Communication Technology, School of Science and Engineering, School of Health Sciences, and School of Petrochemical. Attendees encompassed award recipients, their families, sponsors, and members of the Politeknik Brunei Board of Governors.
Notable Guests
Notable guests included His Excellency Mr. Xiao Jianguo, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei, and the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, the Deputy Minister (Fiscal) of the Ministry of Finance and Economy and Chairwoman of the Board of Governors. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Embassy, Huawei Technologies, and other event sponsors were also present.
Ceremony Proceedings
The proceedings began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Yang Mulia Imam Muhammad Tsuufiy bin Haji Abd Wahab, followed by welcoming remarks delivered by Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr. Saiful Baharin bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, acting director of Politeknik Brunei.
Award Presentation
The ceremony’s main segment involved the presentation of awards across five categories: Best Student Award, Academic Excellence Awards, Enrichment Activities Excellence Awards, Innovation Awards, and Chinese Ambassador Awards. Dayang Nurhazimah binti Taha, a graduate with a Level 5 Diploma in Data Analytics from the School of Information and Communication Technology, received both the Best Student Award and an Academic Excellence Award.
Conclusion of the Event
The Chinese Ambassador Award was conferred by His Excellency Mr. Xiao Jianguo to 21 recipients across various programs. The event concluded with the acting director distributing certificates of appreciation to the ambassador and sponsors, followed by a group photo session and refreshments for all attendees.
