Curtin Malaysia and University of Santo Tomas Partner for Innovation and Global Connectivity

Curtin University Malaysia has established a strategic partnership with the University of Santo Tomas (UST), a prominent institution in Asia, as indicated by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Curtin Malaysia’s Miri campus on September 10, 2025.
The Purpose of the MoU
The MoU aims to foster collaborative efforts in teaching, research, and cultural exchange, connecting Curtin Malaysia with UST, which is known for its contribution to developing influential leaders and innovators in the region.
Delegation and Key Representatives
The UST delegation was led by Assistant Professor Christopher D. Ladao, Dean of the College of Information and Computer Sciences, and included Reverend Father Gaspar Sigaya and other senior representatives. Curtin Malaysia representatives included Professor Vincent Lee, Pro Vice-Chancellor, President, and Chief Executive, along with Professor Tuong-Thuy Vu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science, and other senior faculty members.

During the signing ceremony, Professor Lee acknowledged UST’s significant role in academia and noted the complementary missions of the two institutions.
