Carmela Altiche and Mon Diansuy: FEU’s UAAP Football Players of the Year 2025

On July 7, 2025, the San Miguel Corporation–Collegiate Press Corps Awards Night recognized top student-athletes in football, naming Carmela Altiche and Mon Diansuy from Far Eastern University (FEU) as the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Football Players of the Year.

Carmela Altiche: A Rising Star in Women’s Football

Carmela Altiche was honored as the Most Valuable Player during the UAAP Season 87 Women’s Football Tournament. Her impactful performance in the championship match against De La Salle University included key contributions in scoring and assisting, which helped the FEU Women’s Football Team secure its third consecutive UAAP title. Altiche is a graduating student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences.

Mon Diansuy: A Key Defensive Leader

Mon Diansuy played a crucial role for FEU during UAAP Season 87, particularly as a defensive leader. His significant contributions were highlighted in the finals against Ateneo de Manila University, where his crucial saves during the penalty shootout allowed FEU to reclaim the title after losing to the University of the Philippines in Season 86. Diansuy, an incoming senior studying Bachelor of Science in Medical Biology, was also named the UAAP Most Valuable Player.

A Commitment to Local Women’s Football

Both Altiche and Diansuy received their awards at the Discovery Suites Manila in Pasig on June 30. They expressed a commitment to raising the profile of local women’s football and achieving further success in their academic and athletic endeavors.
