Unsri Receives CSR Development of Wifi Corner Facilities from PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk Through Gasnet

Sriwijaya University (UNSRI) recently acquired support through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the development of WiFi Corner facilities. The contribution came from PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) with assistance from PT Telemedia Dinamika Sarana (Gasnet). The official handover event occurred on June 17, 2025, at the Senate Meeting Room located within the Rectorate of the Indralaya Campus.
Handover Ceremony Highlights
During the handover ceremony, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. H. Joni Arliansyah, MT, the Vice Chancellor IV for Planning and Cooperation, acknowledged the support provided by PGN and Gasnet, indicating that the WiFi Corner would substantially benefit students. He also mentioned the potential for collaboration with Gasnet to facilitate human resources certification in internet networking for UNSRI.
Future Collaborations
The establishment of the WiFi Corner is expected to pave the way for continued collaboration between UNSRI, PGN, and Gasnet, extending beyond CSR initiatives to include scholarship programs and other joint ventures.
Comments from Gasnet’s Director
Rikhi Narang, the Director of Gasnet, described the handover as indicative of a synergistic partnership among the various entities within the PGN Group—specifically PGN, PGAScom, and Gasnet—and UNSRI. He highlighted the importance of the WiFi Corner in enhancing university activities and expressed optimism for future collaborative projects.
Significance of the WiFi Corner
Siswanto, representing PGN’s Division Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, reiterated the facility’s significance as a valuable resource for UNSRI students. He stressed the necessity of ongoing maintenance to ensure the facility’s long-term functionality.

The event was attended by various stakeholders, including the Head of UPT ICT and the Head of UPT KLI at UNSRI, as well as department heads and business support personnel from PGN and Gasnet.
