IIT Delhi 2024-25 Placement Update: UG Students Secure Record 850 Job Offers, Highest in Three Years
Undergraduate students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have secured approximately 850 unique job offers during the placement season for the academic year 2024-25. This figure represents the highest number of offers received in the past three years, exceeding the totals of 712 offers in 2022, 768 in 2023, and 781 in 2024. As the placement season progresses, this number is expected to increase further.
Record Number of Offers
A diverse range of companies has contributed to this record, with several organizations providing double-digit offers to IIT Delhi students. Notable recruiters include American Express, Barclays, BCG, BlueStone Jewellery & Lifestyle Private Limited, Deutsche India Pvt. Ltd., Google, Graviton Research Capital, Meesho, Microsoft, Oracle, PayU, Squarepoint Capital, and Texas Instruments.
Public Sector Participation
Additionally, various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have participated in this year’s placement session, including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Petronet LNG Limited, and Indian Oil Corporation of India.
International Opportunities
On an international level, undergraduate students have received over 40 job offers from companies located in countries such as Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Taiwan, the UAE, the UK, and the USA.
Exit Survey Insights
An exit survey conducted by the institute revealed that approximately 30% of the graduating students from 2024 have chosen different career paths. Among them, 7% have pursued self-employment or entrepreneurship, 6% have opted for higher studies, and 17% are preparing for competitive examinations related to civil services and engineering. A similar pattern is anticipated for the undergraduate cohort graduating in 2025.
