FOM Students Participate in Engaging Economic Discourse at Multimedia University
On November 14, 2024, students from the Faculty of Management (FOM) at Multimedia University participated in the 24th Perdana Discourse Series at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya. The students, who specialize in Accounting and Analytical Economics, attended the event with their lecturers to explore the theme: “Balancing Economic Growth with Social Equity in Malaysia: Building an Equitable and Prosperous Future.”
Focus of the Discourse
This discourse focused on the interplay between economic development and social justice, discussing strategies for Malaysia to attain sustainable growth while promoting equitable wealth distribution and equal opportunities for citizens. The event was moderated by Mr. Muhammed Ahmad Hamdan, a Media Prima News Anchor and TV Host, and included a panel of experts such as Professor Datuk Dr. Norma Mansor, Director of the Social Wellbeing Research Centre at Universiti Malaya; Dr. Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid, Chief Economist at Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad; and Ms. Syalin Koh, Research, Design, and Impact Manager at Teach For Malaysia.
