USTH University Council Approves Key Initiatives for Growth and Innovation

The University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) successfully convened its 12th University Council Meeting on May 27, 2026, bringing together representatives from Vietnam, France, and international partner organizations to discuss strategic priorities for the University’s next phase of development.
Chaired by Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), the meeting highlighted the evolving role of higher education, science, and innovation in supporting national development. Council members emphasized the opportunities created by Vietnam’s strategic policies on science, technology, digital transformation, and educational reform.
During the meeting, USTH presented its 2025 achievements, including increased student enrollment across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, accreditation of four engineering programs by France’s HCERES, and the publication of 183 SCI-E indexed research papers. The University also expanded its international collaborations through 56 new partnership agreements.
The Council approved several important initiatives, including organizational restructuring, the establishment of a Science and Technology Development Fund, new academic programs in Artificial Intelligence and Chemistry, and mechanisms to attract highly qualified researchers and lecturers. Members also endorsed plans to strengthen research, innovation, and entrepreneurship while maintaining educational quality and international standards.
As the final meeting of the 2021–2026 Council term, the session laid a strong foundation for USTH’s continued growth as a leading symbol of Vietnam–France cooperation in higher education, research, and innovation.
