SpaceHACK for Sustainability Drives Global Collaboration and Innovation

The 2026 SpaceHACK for Sustainability highlighted the power of global collaboration, bringing together over 500 participants from around the world to tackle pressing environmental challenges using satellite data. Organised by Arizona State University, the two-day hackathon engaged 66 teams from countries including Ecuador, France, Indonesia, and Ghana.

A standout achievement came from ASU students Vishal Lakshmi Narayanan, Vishva Doshi, and Christina Roby, who secured first place globally in the “Climate Change and the Alpine Information Battle” track. Their project focused on combating climate misinformation through data-driven insights.

Participants worked intensively to develop innovative solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, gaining hands-on experience in data analytics, teamwork, and problem-solving.

The event also fostered international partnerships, with universities and organisations contributing expertise and support. Beyond competition, SpaceHACK provided a platform for students to build skills, exchange ideas, and drive impactful solutions for a more sustainable future.
